Request clarification before answering.
Hi Chintapalli,
1) Have you specified location types in Customizing activity Specified the location types and Hazard and control resister in IMG?
you need to specify location types that correspond to plants in the Plant Maintenance (PM) component. This enables you to communicate risk information for a location to its corresponding plant in PM. If you do not specify location types in this activity, no risk information is communicated to PM plants.
In the application, you can assign a PM plant to a location, but you cannot create a direct link (as you would for the PM technical object). The system uses the location type to identify the locations that correspond to a plant. When SAP EHS Management delivers the risk information for the PM plant, the system communicates the risk information for all determined locations that have the assigned plant.
1) specify location types in Customizing activity specify location type/SAPEVENT:DOCU_LINK\DS:SIMG.EHFNDC_NOTIF_TYP.
2) you should need to Customize PM integration in specify PM integration for risk information.
2) Hazard and control resister.
you need to configure the hazard and control register, that means stores information about hazards and related impacts and controls. click this link you will get some information about EHSM Risk Assessment http://chemicalsbestpractices.sap.com/Files/3_SAP_Chemicals/3_4_Solution_Portfolio_Chemicals/3_4_2_S...
Once you customized in hazard and control register .you can assign in the application.

Hi Edward,
Thank you for the reply. In fact i have done the required as said in your mail. But could not activate the PM Integration and get the following error.
Message no. CM_EHFND_COMN052
You want to activate integration to the Plant Maintenance (PM) component. However, the PM system that you specified via the RFC destination (DEST_PM) is lower than the required version. SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0 or higher must be installed on the system that you want to integrate.
The system cannot activate integration via the entered RFC destination.
once again thank you very much and i will keep u posted.

I just want to clarify that the plant maintenance integration is not required. The location structure in the component extension for EHSM has optional integration to the plant maintenance asset hierarchy. You can actually have a mix as well - that is, some locations that exist only in EHSM and some that are linked to the functional location in plant maintenance. If I understood the original question, then Edward's item 2 is the correct response. You must configure the hazard and control registers. This is intentional. Controls are therefore specific to the location and hazard so that the user is not confused by seeing an entire control register instead of only the controls that could be applicable. For example, if in one location, we use safety goggles and in another location we use safety glasses, the system is configured to only show the controls for that location.
For the location integration, you only need ERP EhP5. For the other integration to plant maintenance that allows you to use the EHSM risk information in the plant maintenance safety plan and the Job Card, then the plant maintenance application needs to be at EhP6.
Hi Mary,
Many Thanks,
Yes, this is optional for import them as locations into the SAP EHS Management component. You can create your own locations, or you can import technical objects that already exist in the Plant Maintenance (PM) component as locations into SAP EHS Management to save you the time and effort of entering duplicate information.
You can also integrate existing locations that you have already created in your SAP EHS Management system with technical objects from PM.
The advantage of this is that you do not have to enter duplicate data.
You can import up to 50 locations into SAP EHS Management at any one time. When you create a location, Example you can define master data such as Plant, Unit, Operating system, Sub Unit and Section .This is more enough to use location structures into SAP EHS Management component.
You need to displays detailed information about a location, such as equipment and activity location’s address and geographic information you should go Plant Maintenance (PM) integration.
However, I agree with your words. Nice information you shared.
Edward
