Hi,

Current I do have many problems with MII.

I tried to configure RFC connecntion and after I save the JRA, the whole Netweaver hang. After sometime the web page throw connection timeout. I am not able to go in the Netweaver adminstration site again

In SAP Management Console, the RFC connection still in "Starting" after 2-3 hours. The whole Netweaver somehow hang.

We restarted the box but the netweaver the RFC connection still in Starting mode........

Any idea what I could do to stop this RFC listener? To recover the system?

Hi,

Please show your settings.

Also, if you are using 12.1.5 or higher, you will need to go into MII Portal - Message Services - Message Listeners.

Select the RFC Listener that you have configured. Hit the Update button. Make sure the SAP Server and SAP Client fields are populated with the appropriate values for the ERP System you put in NW.

Good luck!

Mike

Also check to make sure you are using NWCE SP3 (or greater, but check the notes).

Hi Mike

We found the Problem. It is the property MaxReaderThreadCount. Previously I inserted 100 and this cause the problem.

I reduced them to 1.

The question is what is the optimize nr should one inserts?

In Wiki it stated "This property is basically the connection pool setting of the listener, assigning a large value may be wasting resources where as setting a small value may require a wait period to obtain a connection." So what is your suggestion?

thanks

I think that you would need to discuss it with a NW administrator as I suspect the answer is dependent upon both your NetWeaver installation for MII and on your ERP system setup. As a general rule, I normally set it to 10 to begin with and adjust up or down as needed by the volume of IDocs/RFCs. This is the first time I have heard of problems setting it to 100. I have heard of many folks who normally run with it set to 100

Mike

Hi Seng Kiang Hoe ,

I have the same problem. I changed the property MaxReaderThreadCount=100 and my NetWeaver CE hang.

Now I am not able to start my NetWeaver CE. I have NetWeaver CE 7.1 SP5 . When I start NetWeaver CE, my jstart process has status "Starting the process" for few hours. After few hours it start but I am not able to access NWA and any application.

Could you please give me procedure how to reset this parameter to other value from 100 to 1. So I can start my NetWeaver CE.

Thanks

Hi Seng,

The correct number of threads will depend upon what your load is. If you are downloading a large number of documents frequently, then you may need to increase it. As I said before, I usually start with 10. If you have performance issues, then try increasing it to 20. If you do not have performance problems, then try reducing it. Everyone's situation is going to be different.

Regards,

Mike
