We've noticed that if a user is not clocked in, ME still allows them to change LCC's or to labor on to an SFC. Is there a way to prevent this? If not, I'm not sure I understand the value of the clock-in/out function, other than to record time to a default LCC.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Barry!
I do believe that it is not just for sake of setting the default LCC. The rule of thumb was to have Clock In/Out in place. There was a logic in labor rollup to find such record first, and then start time calculations from that record. Labor setup is quite complicated, so you might have some settings which make your case easier, and thus it works for you.

Thanks, Sergiy.
In Spvsr Time Edit/Approval, clock in/out times are not required to be able to approve, even after the roll-up. I'm working on a custom report that calculates LCC and SFC time, but the only value I see in using the clock-in/out feature is to set the default LCC at the beginning and end of the shift. Is this correct?

Hi!
Not sure if there is a reason to have these functionalities not so restrictive. I guess Supervisor can later adjust clock-in/out if those were missed. However, Labor Rollup process is based on having Clock-in before and Clock-out after the direct labor records. Otherwise such records will not be approved.
