Report not refreshing in CG50 when generated on PPS

Hi,

I've got an error message sent to me by a user and I've not encountered this before. Normally, any creation/generation of SDS reports are managed/processed by the Regulatory Affairs department. However, our Japan region has encountered an issue while on PPS.

I've enclosed an attachment - CG50 Transaction Error Message - to give a better indication on the issue. I have tried to refresh the ones that has the 'Generation Running' icon but nothing's happening.

I have read the SAP forum for similar errors and come across advice on checking the Generation Variant: Ratings/Validity and other settings; checked CG5Z and there is a long list of red traffic light showing WWI was inactive (see attachment - WWI Monitor Overview). I noticed there are 2 different document types shown on there SBR & SBE. What impact does this have or am I reading too much into this?

I appreciate there could be a number of reasons for this but if you could give me a bullet point list of where I should check and what I should do, I will go through it and see if I get a positive result. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Maria

Hi Mark & Christoph,

Thank you both for your responses. I have passed the matter to our Basis team for them to investigate.

Best regards,

Maria

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your advice. I have tried what you suggested: highlighted a line with a value and one with a red light, went into Utilities> Test Server and it came back with No Server Data Available. Would I go into Activate Server or would I leave that with our Basis team to sort?

Thanks, Maria

Dear Maria

get in contact with your "Basis team". No Server Data Available inbdicate that tehre is "nothing" to get in contact with (from SAP point of view). The screen shot might indicate that there is only one "server". PLease check this, This would be a "bad" situation Check the WWI cookbook (and other documents in SAP markeptplace). you will find e.g. "sizing" documents (OSS) for WWI server "farm" as well (and other useful performance etc OSS notes)

In any case: any WWI server (synchron or not) must always be up and running 24h 7 days; No deviation allowed in most of the companies (especiall not for label generation !)

PLease check SAP marketplace. With current WWI version and up to date SAP system you have lot of options to "improve". (so that the WWI servers are up and running)

Check

Yuo will find lots of references for correct WWI set up.

The "set up" of WWi servers is one of top 5 ratest common questions here.

Hi Maria,

"No Server Data" available means that the WWI Server is down or can no longer connect to your SAP system.

I guess you would need to ask the person who set up the WWI Server or is in charger for maintenance.

This is in most cases your SAP EHS In-house consultant or SAP basis team.

If you need any help in getting the server back up and running feel free to contact me.

Kind Regards

Mark

Hello Maria,

You see the "Generation Possible" status in CG50 because these documents have been sent to the WWI Server to be generated - and have not yet been generated..

They can not get generated at the moment because your other screenshot shows that the WWI Server is inactive!

Solution:

Activate the WWI Server: put your cursor on a WWI Server line (a line conataining a value in colum WWI) and choose "Utilities" -> "Test Server"
If you get a positive result choose "Activate Server" and generate a new report from CG02.

If the server testing fails contact you Basis team and ask them to restart the WWI Servers...

Hope this helps

Mark
