Report from template does not generate word file

Dear All,

I am getting error while doing "Report from template" for SDS, RDS or even extracting released SDS. Whenever I pull an SDS, I see the message in the left had side bottom screen " Transferring package 1 of 1...." but the word file does not open. But when I restart my laptop, the SDS do open for few times but again it does not open on 3rd or 4th attempt onwards. Is this issue with SAP setting or with my word settings.

Hello

you need may be to understand the principal difference between "Report from Template" and e.g. actions done in SAP transaction CG50 & CG54.

If you use "Repor from template" the whole WWI process is done locally on your client. Depending on data, WWI template etc.: you need to wait between 1 and 3 min until you will see the WWI document in Word.

For "Report form template": any data is selected in SAP to be transferred to you local client. This need time (as mentioned 1 - 3 min are normal; depending on WWI template etc.)

If you user CG54 / CG50: this is faster; the local WWI process need only to take care regarding the "parameter symbols".
