Related Object is not saved in the Portfolio Item

Dear SAP,

I am a Portal technical consultant, liaising with the PPM team in their challenge to unveil an interesting issue:

In Portfolio Item -> Relationships -> Related Objects, whenever the user clicks on "Create" button, assigns a Project Definition, clicks "Continue" and saves it, the "Assignments" view turns into a blank list, in other words, the entry that was just created disappears, although a message saying "Data saved successfully" is displayed.

In the RPM_OBJ_LINK table, we can see an entry is created, however it has no EXTERNAL_ID (we don't know if it has something to do with the problem).

All the settings for Object Links were carried out according to the Implementation Guide (Creation or Assignment of Object - SAP Portfolio and Project Management - SAP Library), such as Type Definition, Item Mapping to PS and PS Projects, as well as the required settings under Portfolio Management -> Base System Interfaces -> Application Object Settings.

Our version is 6.0, Support package 4, meaning even the latest SAP Note I could find, that could potentially relate to this issue (1917188) is not applicable.

Therefore, my intention with this post is to check if someone here has ever seen such an issue, or has an idea of what might be missing in our analysis.

It looks like an issue with the standard program, better raise an OSS message to SAP.
