Recycled Content in a VERP

Where best is it to store the recycled content of a VERP (i.e. tin can contains 12% recycled material) in S4/HANA?

The data will need to be used to report usage of recycled material. Is it on the MM, on an EHS specification or a 3rd party PIM.

Hello rhysanderson,

It depends on how you want to map the data and for which business scenario you have!

It is a Waste Disposal company you are planning to store data!

It is the Waste Generator company you are planning to store data!

Or

It is Waste Management - Municipal scenario

Or

Seeing the scenario we can map in different modules within SAP

Hello

reading between the lines.. your topic is not related to "EHS/EHSM" => you should check a different FORUM ro get answers

I assume this
1.) we have a material number of type "VERP"

2.) this VERp is e.g. sold / purchased somehow (or used in other logistic processes)

3:) now you would like to describe the VERP "better". Reading between the lines i can see two potential options which one can list here

Option 1: Create a material class and assign a characteristic. The characteristic is of type "numeric" and can ((or should have) an assined UOM (here %").

By assigning the material class to your specific VERp you can story the information, that the specifiy VERP contains 12 % recycled materail. BUT THIS IS GLOBAL STATEMENT (not plant specific etc.)

Option 2:

If you have the need to be more specific: you can create a "batch class" an assign it to the material number

IN the "batch class" you can e.g. define the "recycled" content based on e.g. "plant" number etc

Which option you used depends on your use case
