Dear all
now using transaction CG50 since years there is a feedback from an user: And I can not explain what has happened etc.
This seems to be the high level story
a.) User used CG50 and marked a number of reports (assumption)
b.) then (assumption) he "historized" some reports
At the end of the action of the user we can see now this strange effect in the system (never seen before).
For one report the status of report is still "W7" (released) but if one checks the status net of this report and one dig deeper: the document stored in DMS does have the status "WD" (historic)
This is the first time i have seen such difference. So report is sill on "W7" but document in DMS is on status "WD"
Any idea on this ? Did you have seen this effect in your system once?
We will get in touch with user to acquire more ideas.: What has happened.
But action was done 2 months ago so there is only less chance to get more details regarding the specific steps used in CG50.

Hi Christoph,
Very strange - I have never seen that happening before.
What I see is that when you are in CG50 and therefore locking reports - and at the same time report generation runs and you have set your GenVar to set previous reports to historic and the new created ones to released - you might end up having two reports in status released because the background job from report generation can't get a lock since you are already locking the report in CG50....
(Maybe the old report is set to historic already in DMS - I never checked)
Maybe something similar happend.
Hope this helps
Mark

Dear Mark
1.) first thanks
2:) second: I can confirm your assumption regarding the set up of the generation variant; but to be precise:
The report will always be in Status "Ready" first. And you can nnot "historize" a report in this status.
We still try to get feedback from user: what was teh suer action?
Second: there is now a kind of risk that there are similar data situation (what you can see once might has happend often in the past; but nobody realized that)
But there is only one "small" challenge: this the definition of ESTDH and DRAO. You can not use QuickView to combine both tables. So there is no easy option available to find similar data situatons

PS: I wll prepare in some minutes a new thread for Cg50. May be you have soem suggestions on that too,
