Product is not showing Dangerous in Shipped to country

Hello Experts,

Need your guidance in one situation here. Product was not shown as DG in delivery document however the product is Dangerous. The issue here was it is going to be shipped to Egypt. The route it was following is that it was going through Italy. SD person analyzed this issue and told that In Customizing (SPRO) Egypt is not included in ADR states and hence for Egypt the product is not shown as DG.

I doubt this analysis and need your guidance on this. Is the analysis true. If yes then do we carry out customizing and add Egypt in ADR states. Now a days we get lot more of these issues where  DG information is not shown on SD documents. Your precious guidance will be very helpful.

Dear Devdat

Egyt is clearly no ADR state. And therefore you should add it. But clealry if your transport starts e.g. in germany, though italy to Egypt at least ADR (Truck) and IMDG (Ship) might be needed. Now it depends on your customizing set up which regulaiton is detected and based on DG master data the transport is DG relevant or not.

Check e.g. Determination of Data in Sales Documents (SAP Library - EH&S Dangerous Goods Management)

Dangerous Goods Checks in Sales Documents - Dangerous Goods Management (EHS-DGP) - SAP Library

Did you check this from SAP help:

"According to your requirements, you can define routes with stages in Customizing for Sales and Distribution or edit the IMG activity Specify Transit Countries in Customizing for Dangerous Goods Management. You can also roughly specify the route stages and define the additional transit countries required in the IMG activity Specify Transit Countries."

Hope this helps

PS: Check thse SAP online chapters:

In continuation of above discussion, here is issue:

Material A is DG in Italy and Non DG in Egypt. So when we shipped this material from Italy to Egypt on delivery note we would not get any ADR note. But the client requirement is while shipping to Egypt , first part of transit will happen on Italian territory. So in that case if someone ask delivery note it would show as Non DG material, so how to handle this issue.

Dear Devdattt

If iam not wrong there is no direct road route from Italy to Egypt... May be Primary Mode of transport is Road and Secondary Mode of transport :Ocean (IMDG)  or Air cargo.

As per my assumption you material contains some Marine pollutants due to this reason it will be dangerous while travelling through ocean. so from your factory to Port it will come through road , so as per ADR no transport regulations will not be applicable , once it will be entered in to ocean As per the Regulations of IMDG , it will be turned as dangerous. so you can print IMDG regulations on Delivery note. even in Italian territory also in case of any inspections , Delivery note will says it will be dangerous during transit in ocean due to containing of marine pollutant.

Dear Devdatt

regarding my original post:

Egyt is clearly no ADR state. And therefore you should add it. => sorry mistype.

Egyt is clearly no ADR state. And therefore you should NOT  add it

Regarding other topic. The SD/DG set up should always be done "worst" case.  So Egyt is no ADr county but Italy is. Therefore at least ADR should be detected as relevant. What is shown in the DG log?

Regarding documents. if check is not "successful" document content is assumed to be wrong as well. But may be check as well:

Printing Dangerous Goods Documents - Dangerous Goods Management (EHS-DGP) - SAP Library

Output of Dangerous Goods Documents - Dangerous Goods Management (EHS-DGP) - SAP Library

Outputting Delivery Notes - Dangerous Goods Management (EHS-DGP) - SAP Library

Outputting Packing Lists - Dangerous Goods Management (EHS-DGP) - SAP Library

Regarding other topic. may be check on top:

What happes if transport would done from Italy to France etc. (just inside ADR)? Do you get the correct reaction of the system (That ADR is relevant and that Material is dangerous etc.)

Is the effect always related to ADR country => no ADR country movement ?
