Printers for Label printing through GLM

Hello,

I have a question about selection of suitable printer for printing labels from GLM.

I have information about using Zebra printers.

What are other type of printers which can be used to print the labels from GLM?

My client uses Barcode printers to print some data from other SAP objects. Can that be utilised to print the labels from GLM?

As of now we are not clear that the barcodes will be used or not.

What I want to know that, apart from the Barcode printer or Thermal printer what other kind of printers we can use to print labels from GLM.

Hello Niraj,

You can use pretty much any printer as long as it has a windows printer driver (or a printer drive that works with SAP if you want to use the functionality to print via the SAP spooler).

But you need to make sure that the printer can:

- handel the volume

- meets the legal requirements: Printouts need to be salt water and sun resistant.

I have seen customers using inkjet Lexmark printers on special paper that - according to the client - meets the legal requirements....

So, if I am using Barcode printer to print some SAP documents, and if it can handle the volume and meets the legal requirement, can I use the barcode printer to print the labels from GLM?

Yes - if you can use it with MS word it should work.
