Hi Experts,
As per note 1394553, it is possible to generate PCL and PS output on same generation server after installation and maintaining entries in WWI.INI file.
Question here is in order to select appropriate driver ( based on device that will be printing SDS) do we need to write any code in SAP (enhancement/exit) or it will be determined automatically once we have setup and entries in place on server.
Regards.

Hi,
Almost all printers - even the HP PCL Printers - understand PostScript (PS).
I would recommend based on experience to only use PS - and make sure that the printer understands PS.
-> No extra config on WWI Server or in SAP etc.-> KISS
Hope this helps
Mark
P.s.: Use the universal Adobe PS printer driver to create the PS files

Hello
the use of "PCL" and / or "PS" depends on "printer" used. Therefore: the "printer selection" can be influenced via "customizing" and may be"Abap" code (if there is an "exit" (i believe there is one; but not sure) . The printer selection is part of SDS/MSDS report distribution. For GLM/GLM+: you need to investigate yourself. Here my knowledge is limited.
But first: you must make sure that any ! WWI gen server has teh same set up (as thw WWI server is normally selected "radnomly" (that means: SAP checks which server is "free").
