PPM - Project Button on Portfolio Item doesn't work

When I save a portfolio item with the "Create project on save" box checked, the project gets created, it appears under "Relationships" on the portfolio item, and the Project button appears on the portfolio item taskbar. But, when I click the Project button (via roles or tasks) the system does not navigate to the project. Nothing happens, no errors, and the system just remains on the portfolio item screen. The projects can be accessed via Fiori tiles, but not via portfolio item screen using the Project button. Does anyone know why?

Is this issue resolved? Anyone?

We are able to create the Project along with the Item. But the navigation from Item to Project (either 'Tasl' or 'role') is not working. We see that the project is created and we can access it from the Project dashboard. Project-to-Item navigation works fine. Just that Item-to-Project navigation does not work as expected.

Object Link settings are all in place.

Hello David,

I am not sure with the information you provide.

Check a possible misconfiguration, such as the one referred to in SAP note 2564344 - Button "Project" isn't available in the Portfolio Item which is very similar to your issue.

In this case it is solved:

  1. Call the following customizing under: SPRO > SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Common Functions > DFM Settings > Define DFM Object Link Types
  2. Select Object Link Type 0INMITEM.
  3. Open this Object Link Type in detail.
  4. Check, if the "Logical System" is maintained with the value which refers to the PPM-System.

I hope it helps you.

Hi Paco - Thank you for the quick reply! Yes, I have checked the note you referenced and OINMITEM is setup correctly. I'm wondering if it may be a browser setting issue? I looked at note 2246311 as a possibility but settings seem to be ok. Additional feedback is welcome. Thank you! - David
