PPM Item - PS Project Creation Error

Dear All,

I would like to create a PS project structure on from PPM Item.

When I check on "Create a Project on Saving" and save PPM Item, I am getting the below error " In once sextion of project or WBS element, there is no number. "100000*2022"

My project requirement is to have different numbers for the Item and for the project. Typically project has a coding mask-like "MP-0001" which I would like to create automatically on saving the item.

I have maintained PS related settings in PPM configuration as below.

I am relatively new in PPM and let me know if I am missing any steps or configuration while creation of project.

For automatic creation the Project Definition ID is the same as the Portfolio Item ID. You can link them manually if you have to have 2 different IDs.

Thank you for inputs.

The client has a requirement to have different ID's for Items and corresponding Projects created.

I.e. PPM Item follows std. internal number range on saving. Once click on "Create Project on Saving", it should create a project with a predefined coding mask in PS and link with PPM Item.

Does it possible in std or do I need to implement any cut some enhancement for same.

It is not standard behavior to have 2 different IDs. You would need to implement an enhancement to determine the PS Project ID.
