Dear Experts,
1. My scenario has below requirements.

a) I am transferring Budget from PS to PPM, Facing this Warning -

No link exists between SAP PS Project element and selected SAP PPM items, Any Inputs ?

b) Is it possible to transfer Budget from Portfolio Item ( Yearly) at PS Project Definition Level (Level) ??

c) Do we have standard checklist at Portfolio Item Level similar to Checklist in C-projects ??
If our requirements is to have checklist completion as mandatory criteria to approve Decision point status in item, Do we have any standard solution in this regard ??

d) I am transferring Project from Portfolio Item to SAP PS (Map Item Type to PS project) , which status are possible in standard to synchronize between PPM & PS.
I.e.
My Understanding
Item (PPM) <--> Project (PS)Can I Release my Project through Item Status Release?
Can I TECO my PS Project through Item Complete?
Can I Close my PS project through Item Close?
Which scenario is possible in standard.?

e) Currently we are designing solution through portfolio item to PS project (Automation), But confused whether C-projects should be used for Project Transfer from PPM to PS ?
Our client is oil & gas, they need little bigger structure, they need flexibility in adding wbs, network, activities
Can network/activities be transferred from C-project to PS in standard ??

Hi Gaurav,

You can find the customizing settings to call the PS-Project from Portfolio Item in KBA Note 2720349 - PS-Project cannot be opened from PPM-Item.

b) Check the information in Wiki under https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=451055506

Hi experts,

Checked with basis, After they make changes, now it is coming different error.
I made changed as per note suggested , As I am not using C-projects, Do I need to make changed in RPMFIPROJECT object link ??

We have 2 system
PPD (PPM)
DEV

I changed Object Link:

0INMPSPD - I used Frontend System (PPM) in logical system, Destination also same as PPM Logical Name & newly created Web alias?? Is it right ?

I am confused whether Logical name should be Backend ERP System name or Frontend ERP (PPM) system Logical Name?
There are other objects like
General Query - How we conclude which logical system (Frontend or Backend), Destination should be used in different-2 object links ?
As I have to maintain same things in multiple object links so your detailed answer will help me to maintain these details in other object links like RPMFIPROJECT etc.

Hi Gaurav,

Logical System, Destination and Web Server Alias should point your ERP system.

Hi Gaurav,

as explained in note 2720349 the "Logical System" is the ERP-System (in your case DEV).

Object type 0RPMFIPROJECT is for the PS project linkage per account assignment (can be opend in 'Object Links' sub-tab under 'Relationships'-tab in item).
Object type 0INMPSPD is for DFM object link to PS project (can be called by dropdown for toolbar field 'Project')

Table RPM_OBJ_LINK contains the object links types for a specific item. Field PROJECT_GUID is the Guid of the item, this can be retrieved from table /RPM/ITEM_D.

Your first attachment shows the dropdown menu button 'Project', this would be a DFM link to a PS project. In this case, the navigation settings maintained in transaction LPD_CUST (customizing of launchpad navigation) are relevant. Open transaction LPD_CUST for role RPM_RIH and instance OIF, which is relevant for the dropdown for button 'Project' in the toolbar.

Also, DFM object linke type 0INMPSPD needs to be customized. You need to have an entry for this type in spro transaction under:

> SAP Portfolio and Project Management
> Portfolio Management
> Base System Interfaces
> Application Object Settings
> Define Object Link Types

Define the correct Web Server (+ alias URL), logical system (= ERP system) and RFC destination (if PS is on the same system, the destination is NONE).

Ensure also that Web Server parameters are maintained too:

> SAP Portfolio and Project Management
> Portfolio Management
> Base System Interfaces
> Application Object Settings
> Define Web Server Alias

1. select the relevant Web Server
2. go to sub-menu "Parameters for the Web Server of an SAP Transact." (on the left side) and add the parameters (they must start with '~')

The help for the IMG activity "Define Web Server Alias" contains a detailed description as well as some sample data:

Silvia

Hi Matteo,

Thank You so much!

Could you please advise me, I am getting below issue, Is it related to Object link Configuration?
if yes, which object links required to check?

Yes, this is incorrect customizing, I don't think you have defined the Web server alias or you have not entered it correctly in the customizing of the object link.

However, I suggest you to follow all the steps described in the Configuration Guide related to your SAP PPM version, you may have forgotten other steps (e.g. activating webgui services)

Hi,

a) If yuo want to use the botton Transfer to ERP within the Financial planning view check if the link between PPM and PS project is visible both in the Related Object and Object Link subviews

b) Yes it is possible as per point a) if you set in the Portfolio customizing the Transfer type "Yearly" or "Yearly and Overall", be aware that a suitable transfer period must be maintained at bucket level.

c) No as per my knowledge.

d) All the standard PS status (not user status) can be map to PPM Item status.

e) It depends by how the budget is calculated, but if you don't use the Resource Management part of SAP PPM, in general you won't need C-Project.

Best regards,

Matteo
