Dear Team,

Being new to PPM and attempting to understand and learn what does PPM mean. Can any one help me on the below,

1) What is exactly PPM , if i am completely new how would one like to make me understand about it?

2) Is Resoure prtfolio managment different from PPM? if whats the basic difference?

3) Any basic link where I can see what all the components come under PPM and how to do configuration settings for the same etc?

Hi Satish,

PPM(Portfolio & Project Management) is a Solution provided from the SAP for Planning & Project Management.

Portfolio itself is like a set of Plans for an Organization. We can have our own Structure of Portfolio. Which includes Buckets(Hierarchy Element), Initiatives & Items mainly.

RPM(Resource & Portfolio Management) is a part of PPM (Actually PPM includes RPM & cProjects or Project Management).

RPM is basically used for managing the Resources & portfolios.

But PPM includes Project Management in Addition to the above 2.
