PPM 6.1 SP09: Resource Management (BP Vs Standard Resource Create)

Hello Everyone,

Please see an attached screenshot. What is the main difference between creating a resource from Web UI over using BP (Business Partner) Transaction?. Can I choose to create resources from Web UI instead of using BP? will there be any integration conflicts ?.

Also, could you please share any documentation on the menu options highlighted in the screenshot?.

Hi Mohan,

There is no issue in creating BP from UI or BP transaction, but it would be a mammoth task if there are large number of employees in a organization. And if these BP's are created for POC & testing, then it should be ok. If you are establishing a process for deployment to production, then I would suggest you to look the below link, where if you enable the integration between BP & HCM employee, BP's are created automatically whenever a new employee is created or updated and also it updates user id from HCM in BP.

Hello Ravi,

Thank you for your detailed response. We do not have HCM implemented, I can’t establish the integration mentioned in the blog.

With no HCM, I think I would have to create roles manually either using BP transaction or Web UI option.
