PPM 6.1, how to make the CATS worklist show only the task assigned to?

Hello all.

I have a question with regard to using time reporting (CATS) in combination with PPM (task based controlling) in which multiple resources have been staffed to the same role and the role has been set as Responsible Role for multiple tasks.

Let’s say resources A and B have been staffed to the role and that the role has been assigned to two tasks. Resource A is set as responsible resource for both tasks and is allocated to both tasks. Resource B is only allocated to one of the tasks.

Here the expectation is that resource B in the CATS worklist only would see the single task allocated to – but B see’s both.

Is there a way of influencing this (configuration, project set-up, ..) so that the expectations are met?

Regards / Anders

Ps.
The PPM version used is PPM 6.1.

Hi anders_loven,

You should to be able to set up such scenario with standard configuration. Follows the step by step:

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/CATS+-+Project+Management+-+Scenario

In addition to that, look into "Customizing Settings for Data Entry Profiles"

This function enables you to provide your employees with a data entry view that is tailored to their area of activity and that fulfils your business requirements. When employees record working times, they call the time sheet by specifying a data entry profile. The profile determines the data entry process and the layout of the time sheet.

Should this help to address your topic, please kindly accept the answer.

Cheers,

Luis 🙂

Hi Luis.

Thanks for your feed-back. The set-up for enabling the time reporting is however already in place and is being used.

One feedback from the usage is that resource B - in the example I gave - in the CATS work-list see both tasks and not only the one to which B was assigned.

My question is specific to that use case. Can this be avoided?

The below screen-dump show the documentation I found about this in the help. I am however not sure how to interprete it. It seems strange if the allocation to tasks is not possible to take into account for the build up of the work list.
