Anyone has any idea about PPM 5.0, the release and the features included?

Just out of curiosity.

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade from xRPM 4.0 to PPM 5.0, so we are performing an impact assesment.

Is there any guideline for this, our current enviroment can say 70% had been customised.

We using Portal 7.01 as our front end . anyone have similiar enviroment.

Refer to the upgrade guide of SAP PPM 5.0. It has all the relevant details.

You may have to do custom developments again as the underlying technology has got changed for SAP PPM.

Hi,

starting with the next release, the application "SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0" replaces both the SAP Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP RPM) application and the SAP Collaboration Projects (cProjects) application.

Start of Ramp-Up for SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 is currently planned for end of March, 2010. End of Ramp-Up is currently planned for end of September, 2010. Please be aware that these are preliminary dates which may be changed in the future. At start of Ramp-Up, also a Release Note will be published including all new features.

Is PD (Product Definition) functionality part of PPM 5.0?

Also can sombody elaborate on the financial planning enhancements.

Hi Niranjan,

yea, all the features which you listed are in PPM 5.0

mainly the UI chnage with some major functionalities like process change and FIN integration.
