Is it possible to Release the Portfolio Initiative and not let the first phase of the Initiative get released?
We are looking at the Item Decision Point to drive the status setting. And therefore, when the Item DP is set to In Progress, we want the linked Initiative DP to be set to In Progress, and this should set the corresponding Initiative phase to Release.
When the Initiative Release releases the Initaitve Phase (first phase), this cycle does not work.
Summary
- How to release the Intiaitive such that the first phase of the Initiative does not get released?
- How to set the phase type such that the Completing an Initiative phase does not automatically Release the subequent phase (we are not using approval). We want the Initiative phase to be driven by the Initiave DP which in turn is driven by the Item DP.
The flow must be:
Item DP > Initiaitve DP > Initiative Phase

Hello Deepak,
Not sure if I understand your problem:
You have a initiative linked to a cProject (Initiative) and DP of the initiative is linked to cProject-Phase (initiative)
You release the cProject ( Initiative) and this automatically release the first phase, is this your problem?
this is standard and as far as I know it cannot be changed in the settings ( please check in this forum because I think other people ask this question and not sure if someone gives a solution)
If you don't find a solution, could you try :
- Not release the cProject (initiative)
- synchronize the initiative DP "in progress" with the relase of the cProject (initiative)?
