POD ID DISPLAY ISSUE

Dear All,

We have created the POD ID through transaction code EEDM09 and allocated the POD ID to a grid and installation but when we are trying to display the POD ID from display installation screen -ES32, we are unable to display the POD ID and also in installation screen, we are also not able to find the POD ID, although GRID is getting displayed.

Hello Binod,

The PoD ID which is displayed in the installation is the External PoD ID.

In your first picture from EEDM11 it would be the one in the top of the screen (above all the tab fileds) and it is empty.
The easiest way to maintain it would be directly within the installation in the Point of deilvery data section.
Here you can just enter the external PoD ID and the Grid and save it. The allocation will then automatically done to the installation.
There is no need to do it separately in transaction EEDM09.

Hi Katrin,

Thanks for your response.

We are not able to find the POD ID field under POD ID Tab in Installation, even if we are creating a new installation.Please let us know, how to activate the POD ID field in Installation screen ,whether to be done by configuration or screen enhancement , so that we can assign a POD ID to both installation and GRID.

Another doubt, we need to first create the POD ID through EEDM09 and then allocate the same to installation and GRID , while creating the installation through transaction code ES30 , as you have mentioned in your earlier notes ?Please clarify.

Hi Binod,

The fields are there. In your screen they are all displayed in section Point of delivery.
Here you allocate the grid and define the external PoD ID. In your case the external PoD ID is build up of fields Country, Distributor, Postal Code and Number. This is the structure of metering code Germany.
If you would like to change it (for i.e. using a flat structure) you can easily do it in customizing:
SAP Utilities -> Master Data -> Point of Delivery -> Define Structure of Point of Delivery ID
Please see the customizing documentation for some more information.

If you maintain data directly in installation then the grid and PoD are automatically allocated to the installation.
