Phrase translation update - better way?

I am wondering what's the best practice for phrases update. For example, we buy 3rd party phrase translation, say SAP content provider, and it's loaded into an inactive library and merged into the main library for us. Later we find the translation is not correct for some of the phrases and we manually update them in the main library. We don't want to do it to the inactive library to try to keep it as is from the vendor. Then quarterly, we receive package update for phrase translation and we load them again to the inactive library. What's the best way during the merge to prevent it from overriding our own translation? Do we need to select phrase one by one for the merge to skip those? Any better idea? Thanks.

Hi John,

There is no better way I'm aware of. Either you deselect these phrases from the merge or you change the texts in the passive library as well. The only other way I see is that you create your own phrases with your own translations since these of course will not be overwritten by an updade.

Thanks Ralph. Think creating a new phrase will be better. We can still leave the phrase update as is and update those phrase ID in expert rule mdb files for use. We can check the standard phrase translation from time to time and revert back to use them if they look good then.
