Hi Balaji,

check in the report, which phrases were used.

go to the phrase (Transaction - CG12), and maintain the phrase translations in different languages.....desired for your reporting.

check again by executing the report.

and also consider the correct Generation variant, for correct language reporting.

Hi

Kamal whatever you say is correct ..but at the time of report generation ..for particular phrase French Language is not assigned in CG12 , by default it has to be take english . i was done the settings like that. but while in report generation where i have to set this Language function by default english.

If i generate the report in frnech  .. it is displaying as phrase language not available

Hi Balajee,

That's true, if there is no sink between the Generation variant language and phrase (languages maintained), then you will get this kind of issues.

Before generating any report, ensure that the language maintained in generation variant and the same language maintained for all phrases used in that particular report.

HI Balajee,

How you are selecting the language?

So that I can understand where you are doing wrong?

In generation variant Header, you are selecting the Validity Area.

Same time, ensure to maintain the languages under Rating/Validity.

In material master - Label data view, you can maintain the validity areas, so that you can restrict that particular label to other validity areas.

Other than this, in label template we can restrict the usage of the languages with user defined languages with help of custom language dependent symbols. this can be done only, if you have requirement to print multiple languages (more than one) in the same template.

I believe now that mya by there could be a misinterpretation:

Let's try this:

In report Management the report has a "leading" language (mandatory in SAP EH&S). Report is linked to a generation variant. The report it self (as explained by Kamal) can have many texts in many languages:

Kamal explained:

"Other than this, in label template we can restrict the usage of the languages with user defined languages with help of custom language dependent symbols. this can be done only, if you have requirement to print multiple languages (more than one) in the same template."

The language topic in generation variant is related to a "special" kind of demand which is not related, to my understanding, to your issue

Let us go back now to CG12:

If you use a generation variant as MSDS_IT and you use as the "leading language" "IT" the WWI process try to find a phrase translation in "IT" (either code or text). If this phrase translation is not available, you will get the warning (only phrase text ! ; refer below).

One workaround which does have cons and pros is this:

You have one phrase text as "Flammable" (= language = EN)  but you do not have corresponding translations in FR, IT etc. you can "copy" the text form EN position to IT etc. position. Now you will not get a "generation with warning" but your report would contain e.g. IT texts and EN texts which is legally not allowed to be used in SDS generation and the user in most cases do not take care about that and just release the report.

What are now potential strategies? Depends on product portfolio of the company and regions in which the product is sold. If you sell the product in europe you must/shall support the local language: therefore the best way it to still use the "generation with warning" mechanism (pay attention: normally even using that the user could "release" the report and the technical key will stay in the report => this is a type of "incompliance !

Therefore the user need to be trained very well.)

If e.g. product ist sold only in asia it is well accepted to use EN (e.g. China) and not the local language. But this is not true for any country in asia (the same as in south america etc.)

Many companies provide services to help companies in phrase translation. Please check SAP pages as an example.

Be aware of the fact that there is one gap in SAP standard. If you would like to print the phrase code in WWI report and the corresponding phrase code is not available in the language of the report no !!! generation with warngin will be shown. The same is true according to my knowledge if you would try to print the "phrase remark". regarding phrase graphic I am not sure.

Once again: a matter of training of the user
