PDF creation on WWI server

Hi @all,

one more question regarding WWI server.

We set up a new WWI server using the 3.2 27 version of WWI and try to sent SDS by mail in PDF format.

On the old server is using 2.7 18 version and in the WWI.INI there is the following entry:

[Printers]
PDF=Adobe PDF
[PrintUserExits]
PDF=wwiMkPDF;wwiEConvertToPDF

This WWIMKPDF file is no longer existing on the new server and when we copy it from the old server there is a pop up occuring on the new server that a software is waiting for some attention - but no PDF creation at all.

For us the settings you mentioned are as follows:

[Printers]

PS=XXXXXX (printer name)

;PDF= Acrobat Distiller

[PrintUserExits]

PDF=C:\EHS\WWI\wwiMkPDF;wwiEConvertToPDF

As you rightly said, the wwiMkPDFhas to be availble in the WWI server as the same path is defined as above.

Also make sure that Adode Acrobat and Adobe Distiller is installed on WWI server.

Hello Niraj,

thank you for your information.

We already checked this setting including copying the WWIMKPDF.DOT from an old WWI server to the new one.

Result: the generation job runs until it is manually terminated - we waited for 20.000 seconds until we stopped the job manually.

So it seems that this WWIMKPDF.DOT file is not working with the latest WWI software release. Moreover - as stated in the initial note - this file is no longer part of the installation.

Any additional approach?

Hello Christoph,

If the  file is no longer part of the installation, then SAP would have taken some different approach for converting the documents in PDF.

I am not aware about the same.

Please keep this post updated if you happen to get some information on the same.

Hello @all,

problem is fixed: we installed WORD 10 and WWI version 28 on the server and the PDFs are created now.

There is no more necessity to have the following section activated:

[PrintUserExits]

;PDF=C:\EHS\WWI\wwiMkPDF;wwiEConvertToPDF
