Hi Experts,
I would like to understand the process of creating an opportunity to submission of bid estimation to customer in Commercial Project Management (CPM).
How exactly it works?
Do we must have CRM Application (SAP CRM or CRM 3rd party) to create an Opportunity which needs to be linked further to Master project in CPM?
If yes, a customer need to pay more to buy a SAP CRM licence or Is it part of same SAP EPPM S/4 Hana?
If no, is there any other way to run that process in CPM or PPM?

Request clarification before answering.
An Opportunity only exists in CRM. You can link to it in CPM. So if you want the functionality of an Opportunity than you will need to invest in a CRM license. You do not need an Opportunity in CPM in order to start he Bid process. In CPM you can create the Master Project directly.

S4 HANA Service module (former customer management addon) provides opportunity management without additional licence costs.
Its fully integrated since release 1909 and basically 90% "CRM 7.0" but still evolving.. 😃
