I have been asked to make some modifications to an existing OEE installation SAP MII 15.2 SP 3 Patch 8. One of the key modifications desired is the means to limit which Production Orders are assigned to the OEE application. Only a few work centers are to be used with the OEE application initially. If there is no selectivity, then users are unable to perform operations against those orders as they are assigned to an MES system.
I have been looking over the documentation as well as many different OEE questions posted here. I am hoping that there is way to be more selective regarding which Production Orders are assigned to the MES. Looking at the Hierarchy Template, it looks like it can be configured to limit the IDocs created to selected Work Centers once the nodes are added to the Plant Hierarchy. I am unsure of how to properly do so and will experiment if I do not receive suggestions here.
If there is a different means by which MES assignment can be limited to only a select few work centers, then I am all ears. I suspect there is more than one workable solution.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Mike,
OEEINT uses the Data Replication Framework to decide which IDOC's should be sent to MII, using the transaction DRFF you can define the filter criteria but unfortunately work center isn't one of them, probably due to the fact that orders can span multiple work centers.
The standard filters are Order Type, Order, MRP Type, MRP Controller, Prodn Supervisor, Material Group, Material, Material Type and Plant.
Can you use one of these filters instead? E.G. is it always a particular Material ? Or could you create a specific MRP controller for MII relevant orders? Or how about Prodn Supervisor?
I don't know if you can customize the filters available in DRF , might be worth looking into.
Hope this helps.

HI Mike,
Before answering the question, few queries.
I understand the requirement is to send selective orders to OEE application based on the workcenter. The orders assigned to OEE shouldnt be assigned to MES system. is my understanding right? if so, my first question is will the plant hierarchy be configured with only those required workcenters or not?
Thanks

Thanks

Hi Kevin,
We are looking to use something other than DRFF as you noted, it does not filter by Work Center. It is presently configured to filter by Material, but the number of Materials is rather large and some of those materials could be processed by OEE designated work centers as well as those not included in the OEE controlled areas. We are considering Production Supervisor, but that has other possible issues.
As I am not really that familiar with OEE and DRFF, I have been reading a lot of material and thought that in the configuration of the IDoc. Are you familiar with how the Hierarchy Template is used with the OEE IDocs? It looks like it might be a successful option to invoke. Right now the Hierarchy Template is presently only at the plant level without any Nodes for Work Centers, but Work Center is an option for specifying Nodes. And if you are not familiar with this part of the IDoc configuration, do you know who would be a good contact at SAP or part of this community? salvatore.castro Hey Sam, Any suggestions?
Cheers, Mike
