Hello,

We are using MII 15.4. Currently Oracle Java is replaced by openJDK in our systems. After this, we are not able to open workbench.jar and not able to launch workbench.

Can you please help on this how to launch workbench from workbench.jar in openJDK?

Thanks,

Senthilkumar

I would be interested in that as well. Were it possible for you to use openJDK to open the Workbench?

Hi Stephen,

I have checked the link. In this link, it is mentioned as to download workbench installer from SAP site. But we need to open from Workbench.jar file which will be downloaded from MII menu page. Also how to download workbench installer from SAP?

Thanks,

Senthil

Hi Senthil,

The default way to launch Workbench.jsp file from the SAP MII Menu is through Javaws.exe provided by Oracle Java client 8 and older. Javaws.exe was deprecated in Oracle Java 9 and removed in Oracle Java 11. OpenJDK cannot open jsp files as far as I know.

The documentation for launching Workbench going forward, for SAP MII 15.4 SP01 and newer is here.

  1. You will have to modify the command file available from the help description to execute OpenJDK instead of Oracle Java.
  2. Each Workbench user will need the same configuration and files on his development PC.
