Dear Tarin
I did not catch your question:
what are you looking for in context of "how can we maintain the Hazardous check for the materials ? "
With out WM7eAM there is (according to my knowlegde) no hazard check option available.
IN regards of:
So as per SAP with out WM check on Material Master, I can not do the filling of Haz.Sub.
I believe this statement is not "100%" correct (but I need to check),.
According to Hazardous Substance Master Filling - Hazardous Substance Management (EHS-HSM) - SAP Library
Paragraph:
from the materials found, the system removes all those that are not relevant for hazardous substances. These are the materials for which the Relevant for Hazardous Substances indicator is not set in the material master in the WM Execution view.
your statement is correct but I believe you can "overwrite" this by the "customizing"; or customer development (but I am not sure)
IN regards of:
How can some one know that this materials is relevant to Hazardous in Material Master ?
the option of "material class" seems to be logic but is not supported in SAP EHS; as you need a "REAL_SUB" to execurte filling you could define "hazardous" as: material does have a link to REAL_SUB; if link does not exists it is not "hazardous"

Dear Tarun
what do you would like to get if you use the term:
", so how can we maintain the Hazardous check for the materials". It is still not clear to me.
The "hazardous check" (with WM oreWM) is mainly dedicated to make sure that in one "location" you can only store some kind of material (depending on how hazardous the material might be).
Classic SAP ERP uses mainly plant and storage location to handle material. E.g. EHS uses "work areas" to handle the topic slighthly different. But with Work area there is no link to a "check". In principle in SAP ERP process you execute a "material movement" to a plant/storage location. Only if you use WM etc. (according to my knowledge) you can check if it is allowed or not to store the material at that "place". In SAP ERp "classic" you can not. There might be some kind of "workarounds" using e,.g SVT (as SVT is linked to production and you could try to "misuse" SVT) but this seems not to be a feasible option.
Therefore once again: which kind of hazardous check are you looking for?
C.B.
PS: in principle anything is stored in EHS-BD (property tree) for supporting the hazardous check. So if you have a link material = REAL_SUB you can read data on REAL_SUB level and then you can "detect" how "hazardous" the material might be. But with otu WM / eWM you have no "hazardous check"; so therefore this is only a kind of"workaround" (and could be e.g. suported by use of existing output variants so that the personsn acting might be able to detect about "hazardness" of REAL_SUB)
Hi CB,
Still I am exploring more on this. So how do we know if the material is Hazardous or not. if we are not maintaining anything on Material Master?
If you check for DG, you will have Basic Data 2 for the Environmentally.rlvt check box. This check box will help in many reports, msds and etc.
So I am looking for some sort of solution, do you have any type of check, especially related to Hazardous substance, so that I can pull the data related to it in my SARA report. We do not have WM/EWM and not even planning to go for it as of now.

Dear Tarun
I need to split the answer to your questions:
Hazardous materials (and how to identify them according to SAP standard: please check e.g. this link:
Hazardous Substance Master Filling - Hazardous Substance Management (EHS-HSM) - SAP Library
And this note as mentioned (and the corresponding IMG activity) there:
Note
For more information about how to set up the Relevant for Hazardous Substances indicator in the WM Execution view, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for the Hazardous Substance Master under Set Up Hazardous Substance Indicator in Material Master .
Regarding SARA reports:
PLease check:
SARA Reports - Hazardous Substance Management (EHS-HSM) - SAP Library
Link Note 548514 - SARA 311/312 and OSHA reporting - Sap NOTE Sap-ConsAlt.Ru
could be of interest too. Same as:
SARA reporting is not discussed often here.
I still have doubts in understanding your needs. What is the meaning of the word "Check" in your first thread? Is it more a "reporting" like "wording" or is it more on the level "check if material is hazardous and then "stop" something" (as with DG checks)?
PS: your remark "you statement is right, with out WM check, we can not do filling of Haz.Sub," is in my opinion wrong You "mix" the word"
"check" with the word "filling". You can use Hazradous substance filling without using the "Check".
I assume if you use the term "my SARA report" you are refering to the SAP standard one? If this assumption is correct please chekc the very important sentence on SAP online help:
"The report program determines the risk assessment in accordance with the selection criteria you entered when you accessed the selection screen. It takes into account work areas of the type SL (storage location) and FC (site)."
Therefore to use the SAP EHS SARA standard you must have installed/prepared EHS IH (you must have therefore defined work areas).
C.B.
PS: you can use as awell a customer specific material class to maintain data like" Material is hazardous/ or not". But this is not SAP standard in this context
PPS: with the curent /recent version of "Component Extenstion for SAP EHS Management" you have an alternatrive to do SARA reporting. May be check: Generate SARA 311 and 312 Report - Component Extension for SAP Environment, Health, and Safety Mana ...
