No dangerous goods class was found for specification Error Message

Hello EHS Experts

I tried to query on this issue but didnt find much help so posting this as a Q to you

I was trying to create a specification  using transaction code  "CGCL2 - Dangerous Goods Workbench "  with a spec name "DG TEST OSI" and the specification type I assigned was DG_CL_SUB (Dangerous Goods Classification).

I have assigned the NAM ID category with ID Type DG and NUM ID category with ID type UN and with a test identifier in the identifies tab.

The issue where I am stuck or cant move forward is  when I go to the Dangerous Goods Classification on the DG tree and select the transp. classification tab and I am trying to assign this "DG TEST OSI" specification to the DG regulation TDG_ROAD and it throws me the error

"No dangerous goods class was found for specification DG TEST OSI " and not sure what it means. I was trying to find the assignment of the class to this specification and couldnt find it in configuration.

Can you let me know?

I have also attached some screen shots.

thanks

Srikanth

Details of the error message

"

No dangerous goods class was found for specification DG TEST OSI

Message no. D9707

Diagnosis

You have specified a risk potential for a specification DG TEST OSI for a dangerous goods regulation TDG_RAIL. No dangerous goods class exists for the specification in connection with the regulation. However, to maintain the data consistently, you must specify a risk potential that is dependent on the dangerous goods class.

System Response

The system refuses further processing.

Procedure

  • Choose a different specification for which the dangerous goods class is maintained in the value assignment type Dangerous goods regulations, or
  • Enter the dangerous goods regulation and dangerous goods class in the value assignment type Dangerous goods regulations for the specification selected."

Dear SK,

First U need to maintain UN listed substance DG TEST OS1 and create the relevant transport classification assigned to the property tree EH&S Dangerous goods regulations. check image 1 as for WHITE SPIRIT with a new entry as 3.

Now when you go to the transport classification tab, u enter the DG TEST OS1 under the regulation TDG_ROAD, u will not find error as this regulation is maintained already in the UN listed substance.

check image 2

Hope this resolves ur issue.

Hello Dinesh

thank you for the detailed reply.

I have done the assignments and also assigned the classification to a material master.

When I create a delivery I keep getting the error that "Dangerous goods master record is not released"

I have also released it from DGPREL not sure where it is going wrong.

If possible share your id so that i can send screen shots

thanks

Hi Dinesh

Np.

I have one question . I have done the steps and it looks good.

Now I have referenced the Material into this specification in material reference and also maintained the DGP1.

The issue I face is when I create the delivery and try to pick it doens allow me throwing a DG message ""Dangerous goods master record is not released""

I tried to go to DGPREL and the product is released. So not sure what step I am missing?

Any ideas

thanks

Hi SK,

Create the dangerous goods classification as a specification of specification type Dangerous goods classification. The EH&S Dangerous goods classification property tree is assigned to this specification type.

The property tree contains the value assignment type Dangerous goods classification of value assignment category Transport classification.

Depending on the dangerous goods regulation, you use the corresponding UN listed substance within value assignment type Dangerous goods classification to define the assignment of the identification number and the dangerous goods class to the dangerous goods classification.

Now, You categorize the other dangerous goods data by choosing the relevant risk potential.

Hi Srikanth

We will classify our Dangerous goods by taking reference from Standard DG Regulations(UN Regulations). Pl. follow below steps

1 . Create one specification from  CG 02 and select the specification type LS _UN_Sub , maintain the identifiers for Name (ex:- Product Name) & Number (UN) (Ex:UN 3166)

2. Select the Property tree of DG regulations , and select the transport classification tab and mention any one sample transport regulation like ADR or ADNR  and maintain the Risk classification data like Class of the product (for Ex:- Class 9 ) ,Packaging class (I Or II Or III).

3. Now you just open your Substance of (DG_CL_Sub) and go to property tree of DG classification , and here u assign substance of (LS_UN_SUB) which contains the DG regulation data.

4. you can give this classification data as a reference to any Corresponding hazardous material specification.

Normally you just follow the SAP help indicates.

You need to create a UN list substance, and use 3rd party content provider to populate the DG informtaion according to UN number, or you can just manually input for testing purpose. Then in you Dangerous Goods Classification substance, you can assign the UN list substance for the transport classification, and it will work.
