Navigation in SAP PPM

Hi experts,

My client has just installed SAP PPM5.0.

I have configured all required settings for navigation using NWBC.

When i log on in SAP PPM using NWBC. I see the SAP PPM menu.

However I cannot get access to detailed screens of PPM object (Portfolio, Bucket, Portfolio item).

When i click on one object, there is a blank page with processing icon but nothing appears..

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Sanaâ.

Hi Sanaa, are you using NWBC for Desktop or HTML. Try using HTML as sometimes the browser will show a more detailed error message. Also try using the the standard navigation role SAP_BPR_PPM and see if that works if you are using a custom role.

Hello Lashan,

I recently started working on the Portfolio Management. I have all required roles assigned to my profile.

I still get  " No default portfolio assigned; use 'Switch Portfolio' to select one sap " when I try to use Portfolio.

I checked Navigation setting in the configuration, currently it's empty, Configuration manual doesn't really specify what entries I have to add.

Do you have any idea on this , please let me know

Thank you

Hello Mohan

Have you done copy of configuration (transaction /n/rpm/cust_copy) as per installation guide? Tables relating to configuration that needs to be copied includes :

- /RPM/DASH_PERS

- /RPM/DASH_ROLE

- INM_NAV_CTX

- INM_NAV_CTX_W

- INM_NAV_INF_W

Have you done this?

Regards

Chatsworth

Hello Chatsworth,

All the above table entries are properly made into working system .

This thread helped me a little bit, http://scn.sap.com/thread/3189866

On a different note,

is there any end user manual available to understand the Portfolio management functionality ? I would like to get the basic idea on how it works.

Please let me know

Thank you

Hi Sanaa

Are you accessing the system directly or are you perhaps running VM in Hyper-V?

Thanks

Hi Sanaa,

Before you have to go to Portfolio and Project Administrator( you should have an icon with this option)  and create the portfolio and bucket structure to can use them.

Hi, I already have a portfolio and bucket structure. In fact, we did an upgrade from cProjet/RPM4.5 to SAP PPM5.0 so master data were copied to the new environnement.
