Limit the number of Work Orders for Planned Maintenance, while still covering detailed proof of inspection, precise document assignment and cost allocation.
Context
Conflicting objectives: Settlement rules according to SAP standard vs. efficient work order processing
SAP standard: one maintenance plan for many equipment has correspondingly many maintenance items; each maintenance item generates a work order with one equipment as reference object; apart from that, all these many work orders have the same content; the settlement rule of each work order is created with the account assignment of the reference object - this is not satisfactory
Alternative that could be programmed: Put all equipment on the object list of one maintenance item; generate thus only one work order with an invalid reference object but all equipment on the object list; generate the settlement rule distributed equally across the account assignment of each equipment on the object list.
Could anyone suggest a Standard process for this request? Thanks!

Greetings,
you can prepare a settlement rule which would distribute order costs to multiple cost centres (or any other settlement receiver type) according to percentage. Per standard this is one settlement receiver coming from reference technical object but you can further develop this.
The cost collectors could be read from reference objects assigned to order.

Hi,
Perhaps the functionality for Inspections Round might help: Inspection Rounds | SAP Help Portal
combined with the option to determine the settlement on operation level data: Working with Order Operations as Account Assignments | SAP Help Portal.
Best regards,

Additional Info: For e.g. when a Planned Maintenance Activity is planned for 200 valves in a Functional Location, only one Work Order should be generated for inspecting all those 200 Objects and similarly one Purchase Request should be created for all the 200 valves, where the costs for inspection should be equally allocated.
