MS Project import to PPM requires status scheme

The MS Project Import to PPM via the xml interface requires a status scheme to be defined in Customizing - otherwise the import fails.

However I can use PPM Project without defining a user status scheme.

What is the recommendation if PPM project is used in standard - without defining a status scheme and the xml interface to import an MS Project plan?
Defining a z standard scheme is not a good solution for the users - is there another way to handle this?

Looking for support - Cheers

I found the solution myself for the PPM - MS Project interface using the xml format as available since PPM 6.1 SP13

  • In PPM customizing for Export PPM to MS Project for object project definition, add a field sync for e.g. Text5 to STMA
  • In PPM customizing for Import MS Project to PPM with object project definition, add a field sync for Text 5 to STAT_PROFILE_PRO

Even if the field remains empty in the MSP export file, the import does not require a standard definition for the status scheme - and works as expected
