The MonthEnd function returns the first day of the following month. If I use MonthEnd(datenow), I get '2007-12-01T00:00:00' Is this a bug or a feature?

I guess that depends if you want to do a less than < or a less than or equal to <u><</u> in your logic

Well, more the latter in this case. I can subtract a day when I need to and not subtract a day when I don't.
