MII Project folder disappears from OS directory

We have had one of our project folders on the server u201Cdisappearu201D twice in the past week. We are currently setup with one SCS instance sever and two dialog severs. The issue was found when users were no longer able to access any irptu2019s on one of the instances. We logged onto the server location for these files (e:\usr\sap\<SID>\<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\xappsxmiiear\servlet_jsp\XMII\root\CM) and noticed the project folder was missing. We resolved the first occurrence of the issue by importing one of our project zip backups. We resolved the second occurrence of the issue by copying the folder from the unaffected server to the server with the missing project folder. The odd thing is that its only occurring on one of the dialog servers and not both.

Does anyone know what can cause this issue? We were not performing any project import or exports during these times.

Thanks

Based upon your file system path it would appear you're on NW 7.0 and MII 12.0.

MII 12.1 on NW CE would look something like: d:\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\xappsxmiiear\servlet_jsp\XMII\root\CM (notice there is only one folder location shared in any cluster or multi server instance).

Any error indications in the log or windows event viewer? Any Anti Virus changes recently?

When NW is restarted it will attempt to do a blowout from the DB, so unless the DB records from the XMII_FILES table were removed, a subsequent restart should put the files back onto the disk.

Thanks Jeremy your response makes sense. I checked with our windows team and there was nothing in the event viewer or we did not have any changes to our anti virus. I think your explanation along with our memory issues on boot up explains what happened to our system.

Thanks
