MII Migration from 12.1 to 15.1

Hello Friends,

                We are going for a MII server migration from 12.1 to 15.1. After going through the migration related documents at Market Place I realised that we need not run the migration tool since it is from 12.1 to 15.1. Migration tool is required only if you migrate from 11.5 (xMII to MII). So I am planning to export the project from 12.1 and import at 15.1. Apart from this I will transfer all other configurations (Data servers, Credentials, Global properties etc..) as well and test the application on the latest version.

Please let me know in case I missed anything and if this is the right migration process.

Hi Shaji,

Few things you need to take care while migrating configuration:

• Only default values of Shared Memory are migrated, so make sure you take a manual back up of actual values before the planned cut over.
• There is a slight difference the way web service URLs are interpreted in 12.1 and 15.1, kindly check for the syntax for the same.

Hi Shaji,

No mandate as such whether you should use migration tool or not. For configuration migration, it would be easier to use the tool is what i guess. However, export-->import would also perform a perfect migration.
