How can I rename a Navigation node or reorder them without having to recreate?

That did it. Sure saves alot of time not having to delete all and re-add.

The editor is awful isn't it....
Export the configuration to a zip file (select only the necessary checkbox) and find the associated role/user xml file, then carefully make your edits in the xml. It's a good idea to confirm that the file is valid by using IE to open the file, then rebundle the zip file and reimport the configuration.
