I have a unique requirement. The requirement is as below :
There is an old PPM system based on Netweaver and we need to build a new system based on S4 HANA and migrate the data from the previous system.
For the data migration, one thing , which is to be migrated is that change logs (CDHDR and CDPOS) for the previous system should be moved to other system as well.
Is this requirement feasible? Has anyone done that before? Please provide your inputs. Is there any BADI , which can be triggered? How can one bring the change logs for the previous system to the new system? The issue is that while migrating the data, the GUIDs will not match with the GUIDs in the old system
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Satya,
Yes we found the way. For change documents , there is a service from SAP , which migrates the data As is from old PPM system. For project management objects, there is a BADI, which can update the change documents , if I remember.

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I dont find the PPM objects as part of LTMC.
But I would like to explore more on LTMC as one option.

Hello - are you doing the system conversion option to S/4HANA?
If so, the change documents do come over; we did a sandbox migration to 1809 last year and the change documents migrate.

Hello - there was / is a new implementation S/4HANA free OpenSAP Course - new one starts next month - see https://open.sap.com/courses/s4h16 - I recommend enrolling for it. There was an old one too that covered this.
I have not used the migration cockpit (LTMC transaction) - so I don't know if there is already a migration object there; if not you can create your own.
Good luck
