Measurement Point generating negative value for counter reading

I have an issue where the system is generating a negative value in "Counter reading" field when I try and enter a value in "Difference" field in a measurement document. Screen shot attached,

any ideas why is this happening and how to fix it. I know I can do a counter replace and it will be fixed but I need to know that why is this happening in first place.

** the measurement documents were generating fine until 1 day this issue came up and since then its generating negative values.

I've not seen this before.. Are you using any enhancements in the measurement document process? If so, deactivate them and retset.

Otherwise I would suggest you open an OSS message to SAP to see what they recomend.

Thanks for your response, there is no error message. System is automatically calculating a negative value.

For future reference; you will get a better response if you also tag your posts with: PLM Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)/Plant Maintenance (PM).

Are there any error messages issued? If so please post the full message text including message number.
