Material Groups Dependency

Hello All,

Our materials are organized into a three-tier category system: Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. We are using fields MVKE-MVGR1-3, as this data is required in SD. We need dependencies across these categories, where the values in Group 2 are determined by the selections in Group 1, and the values in Group 3 depend on the selections in Group 2.

We’re unable to use the product hierarchy, as it is already designated for a different categorization.

Is there any standard solution to have this dependency?

Seems you want to use the functionality of product hierarchy concept without using product hierarchy field.
I am not sure about this in standard way, Below is my suggestion.
Try to Incorporate new categorization in the existing product hierarchy structure.
Otherwise with the help of ABAPer you may inter link Material group 1, 2 and 3 fields. But sales org. is mandatory for mg1-3, not like product hierarchy field.
If the material master maintained by a single team, you may guide them to enter the fields in a required manner.
examples:
mg1 - mg2 - mg3
A   - A0  - A01 or A   - AA  - AAA
same formula like product hierarchy.
