Managing Timesheets for contingent workers in SAP Plant Maintenance

Dear SAP Experts,

We are planning to integrate SAP Fieldglass to engage and manage the external workforce and integrating with SAP using the service entry sheet. At the same time, we don't have any plans to maintain the external workers integrated with Success factors or in SAP HR

Here, we have a few queries to get clarified before we implement this.

1.) whether this integration is possible in ECC or we need to have S/4-Hana In-place.

2.) How to track the external worker timesheet from SAP work order and how do we link this to work order operations

In order to get the time tracked, what all specific components need to be activated at ECC, and what configuration necessary to track his hours worked for the day?

Why not using CATS instead? I am not aware of any "break through" from ECC to S/4 in this area, so ECC must be same fine for this integration.
