Hello Experts,

Please advise me. What is the use of 'Defect codes for rejection' tab? &

What type of values to be entered while creating Master Inspection Characteristic? (Tcode: QS21)

Regards.

Rajan.

Hi Rajan,

Defect codes will be used, to reject the inspection.

Every organization, before implementing the SAP itself, they might be knowing the most of the causes for rejection.

these defect codes will be maintained in catalogs - QS41, usually catalog 9 will be used for defect types. under code group, codes will be maintained.

this will be user friendly, as well as we can monitor the rejections, period wise as well as defect code wise. controles the manual entry for rejection reason.

for your second question - Master Inspection characteristic:

Based on the requirement, it will be created.

you must mention the characteristic, which was created in CT04.

have to mark the control data, Preset Indicators and also whether it is qualitative (or) quantitative. these things must be compatable withe the characteristic you are choosing.

status must be Released.

In the top left corner of the screen, you have a button "control Indicators" which will give you more options to choose, these indicators will control and issue the warning - if the user maintains a wrong value (or) the value is not in the specified limits.

you may get more information on the same in QM community.

Hi Kamal,

Thanks for your reply.

I have to print the label via CBGL_MP01, so that i should had specification assignment to material.

I created material specification via Tcode: QS61 for material 66 as like below:

But in the 'Specification assignment' tab of Material master (Tcode: MM02)

I got the following message while entering the above specification. Please help me on this.

(or Should i post in QM space?)

Hi Rajan,

specification assignment, it is expecting from EH&S specification.

you have to create the specification in CG02/CG02BD.

and you are linking the material vs. specification is not also the correct place(as shown in your print screens).

there is a special tab for specification assignment. it must be appear in material master next to Label data tab. or else you can link the same in CG02/CG02BD > Material Assignments tab

by enter the material here, system recornize the linkage between material and specification.

It's purely MM and EH&S integration, no need to touch the QM objects.

Hi Kamal,

Thanks for the explanations.

I followed the instructions to enable the 'Specification' tab for material master as in this link:

http://www.consolut.com/en/s/sap-ides-access/d/s/doc/YY-EHS_MD_110_05_41

But the 'Spec. Assignment' tab came under Additional data instead of Main data.

1. How to transfer 'Spec. Assignment' tab to Main data? (Next to 'Label data' tab or thats not a problem).

Hi Rajan,

follow the path -

SPRO > Logistics - General > Material Master > Configuring the Material Master > Maintain order of Main and Additional Screens.

Select the Material type for Ex - FERT

Go to Details.....

You can find the screen sequence here, Remove the screen "91" from Additional screens and put it in Main screens.....with the No. which will be suitable to keep the tab, where exactly required.

But i couldn't delete the screen(91) from Additional screen. Please advice more on this.

Then, where can i select the material type?
