Is it possible to use SVT classic along with the rest of the PC "new" features?

Dear Community 

I'm implementing SAP S/4HANA for Product Compliance, OnPrem release 2023. In face of the answer provided for this question and regarding the latest information about S/4HANA for Product Compliance (PC "new) released in the EHS and PC Info days, last September I'm asking the experts: 

Is it possible to use SVT classic along with the rest of the PC "new" features? Even with its current limitations.
What are the minimum requirements to do so?

best knowledge on my side: you should not activate the "marketibility" part of PC to avoid risks to use EHS SVT classic.

But for details the best option is always to ask SAP to get guidance.

PS (new information in 2025): with higher release SAP seems to have decided that we can use "SVT" without the use of the Marketibility part and vice versa.

I have not checked if this is explained in "On line" help"; but you will see it in Customizing.

PPS: may be check upcoming on premise release (in november 2025): what is different in comparison to current solution (and clearly check "Roadmap explorer" to check what will happen in the next years.

the answer depends on the "risks"/"challenges" you will accept and your current landscape and current use of software.

In a nutshell: 

Topic 1: you can use EHS Classic and Product Compliance in parallel if you accept double maintenance and "double" integration to logistic processes. But you need to pay attention with "how you use Product Compliance"

In the current Product Compiance software (on premise version): you have suboptions to "activate" the software (Product Compliance). But if you e.g. activate the "DG" management: You should not use DG in EHS Classic any more. Here you must/should be strict.

So the "double integration" (regarding DG) means: it is not foreseen to use DG EHS Classic and DG Product Compliance (according to my knowledge) in parallel. But you can still use e.g. EHS Classic for e.g. SVT, Report Shipment and other stuff and use DG in Product Compliance

Topic 2: The use of the "3E Adapter" might help you to avoid partially double maintenance. BUT you must have used in EHS Classic 3E aspects. Mainly: Property tree, phrases. WWI Layout and rulesets are not a "must" but the 3E adapter (according to best knowledge) assumes that you use the SAP/3E Standard property tree and 3E phrases only (and SAP / 3E Standard data model).

Topic 3: to use "Product Compliance": you must "forget" old rules from EHS classic but must accept "new" rules from "Product Compliance"

So e.g. the "dangerous goods profile" (and many other stuff) on material level is of interest for EHS Classic BUT not for Product Compliance. Here: the material must be "relevant" for Product Compliance. AND THIS YOU CAN ONLY ACHIEVE if you do not use MM01 but you must use the corresponding Fiori app. There is no other option (from User perspective)

So the use of "Product Compliance" is a challenge for "Business" and "IT Organisation" (and i skip here that the Product Compliance does have a completey different Access Concept in comparison to EHS Classic)
