Integration of costs in SAP DM

Hi all,

we have the following challenge. We use the Scrap processes in SAP DM. There are 2 use cases where we need a assesment for the scrap quantities.

1. The user can book a scrap quantity. Depending on the value he send it to a quality gate for a further decision through the QM or he scrapped them directly. This decision is based on the monetary value.
2. The second use case is a reporting in the embedded SAC for the scrap quantities. We need for this also a monetary base for a further decision to optimize processes.

The calculation of the cost is based on the materials used up to that point and the production costs of the operations whcih has been done.

Does anyone have an idea how can we realize that in the SAP DM ?

Hello Andreas,

You can evaluate if Custom Data at Material, Operation, Routing and/or BOM levels can be used to model and fulfill the Cost data requirements that you have, and use Production Processes to do the calculations and take the routing decisions you need.

Another option would be to create an extension in BTP to retrieve/store cost information, do the calculations and call that extension from DM for routing decisions.

Hi Manoel,

that´s what i suspected too. I contact my colleauge who is responsible for CO and discuss it whith her. I need the database source for this cost data. Then we will build an extension.
