Hi there,
We are investigating the options in EHS for our business.
I have two questions relating to EHS::
- Is there any way we can add some user-defined text to the Cause Hierarchy on the Investigation tab
- Is there any useful config documentation on EHS (not including the SAP Help)
Thanks in advance
PeteA

Hi, Yes, you can have an option to select the Cause hierarchy in the incident, Also you can attach Root Cause Analysis report to the incident in Investigation results tab, where you can have an option to write a free text or can copy paste any work docuement out out sap, and can also attach the user defined documents (reports) using DMS functionality.

Thanks for the reply Keshav,
But we want to attach a free-text option to each node in the Cause Hierarchy
Is this possible?

Hi Pete
Following four points comes to my mind for the question raised by you.
1. Although I can understand the business requirement of detailing the root causes against the conncerned nodes, but one has to keep in mind that cause heirarchy is only meant for identifying the root causes amongst the already structured causes.
2. The details of the root causes has to anyhow be a part of the subsequent accident / investigation report, which can be uploaded as document or written as free text either at "user-defined texts, documents" (under "goto") and/or "Investigation result" field.
3. The "cause description" for the cause nodes are 128 character long field in SPRO. You can revisit the spro for writing some more details of the cause description subject to 128 characters.
4. Still, if you wish to have a work-around, I would suggest to use "Safety measure" facility. Safety measures can be assigned to every cause nodes, and for every safety measure, one can maintain its description as a free- text field. Here you can include details of the cause identified.

Pavan/Keshav,
Once again thanks for you replies.
Maybe if I explain the business process it will help. We send out technicians to customer site to maintain electrical/gas appliances. On completion of each job the technician must fill out a Health and Safety questionaire.
We need to store this data in a common format across all business areas, and we must be able to report on this data.
We were advised by SAP that the Incident/Accident offerings in EHS is the best solution (although currently we are using PM/CS notifications).
Do you have any other ideas how this could be done in EHS?
Thanks
PeteA
Hi, Its not possible to include in the cause hierarchy, It can be accomplished through numerous program changes and Enhancements, However it is not feasible a option to change the programs for this requirement. Instead you can achieve this by 2 options
1. By creating a new Incident type as "Maitenance of Electical/gas application" and can capture the customer details in the free text, and can upload the external documents like EHS questionnaire filled by the technician by creating all your customer places as work areas.
2. By creating Safety measure type Technical and by selecting the relevant person assigned for this job and can able to capture all the details start date, end date, cost incurred etc.
the only difference is in safety measures you cannot attach the external document, where as in incident you can attach.
Hope this will resolve your issue

Keshav
Hello Pete,
If the Questionnaire is a standard set of questions (kind of check list), may be you can use the functionlity of Questionnaire in Occupational Health submodule. This questionnaire can be assigned to the work area and as Keshav suggested, each customer place would be a work area for you.
