Hello,

The connection between CRM and projects depends on which CRM you are using.

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, the Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) module allows for the integration of sales orders with projects. This integration enables you to track and manage project-related sales orders effectively. Here’s a general guide on how to work with sales orders in conjunction with projects:

1. **Project Creation:**
- First, ensure that your project has been created within the SAP S/4HANA Cloud EPPM environment. Make sure that all necessary project details and structures, such as work packages and WBS elements, are in place.

2. **Sales Order Creation:**
- Create a sales order in the system as you normally would. Ensure all details, such as customer details, order items, and terms, are filled in.

3. **Assign Sales Order to Project:**
- During the sales order creation or afterward, you have the ability to assign this order to a specific project. This is typically done by associating order items with relevant project elements, such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements.

4. **Use of Public API:**
- If you're integrating data from external sources or systems into SAP S/4HANA Cloud, you might use the Public API for project plans and project elements. This allows you to bring in external project information and synchronize it with your cloud setup.

5. **Project Tracking:**
- Once the sales order is linked to the project, you can track and manage the sales order alongside project progress within the EPPM module. This includes monitoring KPIs related to both sales and project execution.

6. **Reporting and Analytics:**
- Utilize the reporting and analytics functions within SAP S/4HANA Cloud to gain insights about the relationship between sales and projects. This can help in understanding project financials, execution states, and sales performance related to projects.
