Hello there,
We want to use Man-Call function to ship a document which is not an SDS document (in fact it is Certified Product Data Sheet for Canada), but when doing this we are having (of course) same email content as for SDS when it is sent to customers as we are using same report category (MSDS) and same business process (MSDS_DIST).
Is there a simple way to send this document through CVD1 / Man-Call with a different email content than for MSDS(s)? Does this need Abap development?
Thanks a lot for your help

Hi Christoph,
I realized the solution recommended by note 1055907 was implemented a few years ago. This was applied to be able to send a different email object and core depending if it is MAN_CALL, SD_CALL or SUB_CALL. The two programs indicated in the note were modified consequently and the solution of cover sheet was deactivated.
Based on the notice, I think the better way to proceed with "CPDC" document with MAN_CALL is to enhance again these programs.
What do you think ?
Thanks
Daman

Hello based on: I realized the solution recommended by note 1055907 was implemented a few years ago. I am not sure if i understand your status correct and therefore it is not really possible to help you.
First: which "two programms" are you refering to ? (The two programs indicated in the note XY). What change did you done? Did you used a "copy" or did you used a "modification"?
Second: explain better the term "email object"; not clear what you refer to..
Third: the two "environmental parameters (refer to your screenshot) are dedicated to be used in "MSDS/SDS" dispatch only.
If you need something different: you should define e.g. "Z" enviromental parameters and check the use of the original environmental parameter. (whcih "routine" is selecting the content of the parameters)

Hello
"In other word we want to use different cover sheet when sending MSDS or CPDC document through MAN_CALL."
Now i am confused... let us focus on "MAN_CALL" as such. Here you can clearly use a different cover sheet even if we talk about a "MSDS".
But you should not mix this process with a "CPDC" document. This would not be "Best Practise"
I propose you should first wokr on the "MAN_CALL" + "MSDS" topic to solve the topic to use a different "Cover Sheet"
Then you should go with the "CPDC" document

Hello SAP provides these processes: PRINT_CALL; SD_CALL, MAN_CALL, SUB_CALL, EXP_CALL; you can define different cover letter in "MAN_CALL" in comparison to "SD_CALL"; this is only customizing.
But if you believe the customizing option does not solve your probelm.. I am sorry. There is in SAP standard no other option available to define the "Cover Sheet". And regarding the eMail context.. you should (as mentioned) not combine the "SDS&MSDS" email part with something different. But here you need only to perform a "copy" of a SAP function module and then you can solve the topic (if i remember correct)
Wish you the best

Hello
you should not use the same report category "MSDS" and you should avoid to use the same business process as with MSDS (e.g. to get a difference e.g. in "CoverSheet" etc.)
I propose the following sequence
1.) check customizing. Here you can define the "cover sheet". Here you will find all the conditions which are allowed in Standard to define a "different" cover sheet; check the options you have there (e.g. you can differentiate by "sales organisation")
2.) you should not mix a "non SDS" like document with "MSDS" as report category. You should specify may be a customer specific report type to assign to the generation variant
3.) check may be: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_ERP/e3e7c06560a54d14ba7f4c52a86635da/352bbf53f106b44ce10000000a174cb4....S
and the relevant OSS note describing the "report distribution"; this is a "consulting OSS" note. You will find this easily on SAP marketplace
Wish you the best
