Dear Gurus,

We have 6 fields present under Custom Component tab of each Item. This is part of /RPM/CUSTOM_COMPONENT webdynpro component.

I want to save those fields into /RPM/ITEM_D table. I have added 4 ZZ fields in to the Item table too. Could you please guide how to achieve that ?

Regards,

AP

Sorry for the delay in replying, I have achieved this using a custom program to capture the fields in the SAVE event into custom fields of ITEM table.

Hi,

We have the same issue.. Custom tab created in PPM 5.0 via BADI 'DPR_EXTENSIONS'.. Custom Webdynpro application is called and field is visible.. !! On entering the values on this field, it is not updating into the Table DPR_PROJECT-ZZXX field.

I have tried to add custom field into Std Tab ( BASIC DATA ) and modified Std WD component ( adding Context for new z fields etc..) This way values entered into custom field, is getting updated in DPR_PROJECT-ZZXX field.. Not sure why the values entered via custom tab is not updating.. As per SAP

"If you want to update the customer-defined data in your component, the following rules apply:

If the customer-defined data is stored as fields in the relevant CI structure of the object, the data is updated automatically. SAP recommends this procedure" ( https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/1131894)

Please advice, how to save values in DPR_PROJECT-ZZXX field when values are entered via custom tabs.

Thanks!

Hello AP,

SAP Consulting note Nr. 1399319 broadly describes the steps which need to be carried out in order to handle the fields on a custom component. The note also suggests that /RPM/CUSTOM_COMPONENT is used as a template to create your own WebDynpro Component (instead of embedding this example component directly).
