How to Remove a PCo Agent Instance associated with a DM Automatic Trigger

I have created and deleted an Automatic Trigger and its associated Deployment Group as defined in the help. However, the PCo Agent Instance that was created to host the Automatic Trigger is still defined in PCo; since it is managed by SAP DMC it cannot be deleted in PCo.

What the correct process to complete delete the Automatic Triggers, Subscriptions, and Agent Instances in the even that these objects are not needed?

Thanks in Advance!

Steve

Hey Steve,

I'm not 100% sure, would have to test it, but if I'm not mistaken, undeploying and deleting an Automatic Trigger / Subscription would indeed not delete the respective Agent from PCo.

In any case, as the last resort, in PCo itself you can always select Edit > Unprotect Cloud Configuration Element, which will enable the Deletion of Objects created by DM:

Hope it helps,

Manoel

Hi Manoel,

Thanks for the tip! I did not notice the 'Unprotect Cloud Configuration Element' before. That is sufficient for me for now. However, I suspect that the Subscription Group created for the specified Retention Time is still persisted in DM, and may cause a deployment error if you should attempt to use that Subscription Group (Retention Time). I may test this next week and let you know.

Exactly! Subscription Groups of the same Retention Time can be shared and re-used, that's why I believe they are not deleted when you delete Subscriptions.

That's why I mentioned that deleting objects directly in PCo should be used only as the last resort, as that will cause PCo and DM to go out of sync in most cases and might cause other problems later on.
