How to monitor PCo agents status thru Remote client?

Hello All,

We are testing one scenario as triggering transaction from PCo 15 whenever PCo agent status is changed or some error logs in the execution. We are using file monitor agent and remote client for this. In remote client, we have added the target transaction and enabled active monitoring.

But while testing, transaction is not triggered. But in remote client, agent status getting change whenever agent status update in PCo.

How can we trigger the transaction thru Remote client for agent status change or any error log registered during execution in PCo?

Thanks,

Senthil

What is the source of data being passed through PCo? Do you have a plant historian and if so which vendor's?

Hi Senthil,

Can you please provide more technical details of how you have configured the remote client and the active monitoring?

As far as I can remember (and I could be wrong) the active monitoring is only triggered when the agent instance status changes to "error". It doesn't monitor for errors in the log file.

Thanks

Kevin

I just tested this and it successfully executed the MII transaction but only when the Agent instance status changed to "error". (This is the as designed behaviour which is also detailed in the PCo Help Page)

It sent the following XML message

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<pcoAgentInstance name="DemoOPCUA" node="xxxxxxxxxx.sap.corp" state="Faulted" utctimestamp="1/6/2021 10:59:47 AM"/>

Thanks

Kevin
