how to handle china and canada drug precursor scenario with sap

any clue on this how cab we achieve this through new sap update in ehs ? I do not see these two regulations under drug precursor in normal property tree ?

not sure about your question. Let us try to seperate

a.) you should aleays have the most up to date "STANDARD" tree in your system

b.) if you buy Content you will in most cases buy "phrases" and Phrase assignments as well

c.) based on SAP Services: you will get (depending on Service) E.g. new or Change rule sets; new Wi templates, new or changed Content etc.

So the China / Canada drug Topic should be "assigned" to one existing value assignment type; and therein you can assume that, if needed, two (or more) data records are present

As SAP changes the STANDARD tree from time to time: currently there is a trend to "split" properties by Region. Therefore you will find one value assignment for "drug" Asia/Pasific Topics, one for Drug Europe, etc. in your System (depending on Status of your property tree clearly)

  I think the one you mentioned is mentioned under Restriction Status and not necessarily Drug Precursor for these two countries . Not sure whether we can use those value assignment for handling drug precursor for cn and canada . if yes then how and which one should we choose .

Dear Krishna

let us assume this; you buy content. In this context you will get "configuration information". That means you will get a list of phrases to be set up, regulatory list etc. etc. and a "value assignment type" is mentioned to be used (as the mappingof contetn is donefor this VAT).

If you do not buy content: sorry. the whole story is on your side. You must check the "regulations"; think about: what is needed in EHS (phrases etc.) and this is something which is normally not done by companies because of the huge efforts involved here.

PS: how you use the proeprty tree is you decision. The STANDARD tree is "best practise". But for come content you could do "different" mapping (as many classes have same structure)); this does not make sense in most cases but theoretically it is possible

PPS: in theory: SAP could map the "drug" and "precursor drug" story to the same property; it depüends on the "legal" strcuture of the regulation etc."

Might be CB answered this questions. But would like to add

The drug precursor regulation speaks of forbidding the activities like sale, export, import, possession and production. The regulation however exempts uses such as medical, scientific and industrial purposes. For this to happens, the authority issues licences, permits and exemptions, get licences to produce, sell, import or export controlled substances or precursors. Importer must get permit each time they import, and researchers must get permission for research purposes. By looking at the brief legal text you can be sure that it needs below

-Ability to store the license and permit information

-Checking substances lists and associated release for use

-Tracking the products for possible use of drug precursors

-Capturing the uses and exemptions views

-Tracking in the supply chain if they can be imported / exported and real time checks / blocks

-Sometimes printing documentation for use permission like for research

Now the above requirement if you see in SAP EHS, it can be managed by Chemical Control Law like Notification status and associated property tree information along with WWI Templating for reporting. However, SAP offers SAP Product Marketability and Chemical compliance which can ensure compliance and associated checks. SAP also provides Content for meeting the Drug precursors for both Canada and China. You may check product documentation.
