Dear SAP experts,
I was searching for some clear statements in the SCN, but could not find them. Therefore i decided to create this post:
Is it possible to configure a MS Sharepoint Site as a content repository for a SAP system without the need of further third party tools (SAP Content Server etc.)?
If yes, what would be the exact configuration steps?
Thanks,
Wladimir

@Martyn, did you find the information you need regarding move to SharePoint O365 ? Otherwise let me know, we've also done it

Dear Wladimir,
as far as I know, it won't work without a 3rd party solution. We use SharePoint as Content Repository in OAC0 - but we are using a solution from CaRD ( cloud-connector-online ) since many years. They also provide a SharePoint Connector for SAP which is fully compatible with ArchiveLink and supports SAP PLM (Document Info Records), Attachments (FIORI, WebDynpro) and Business Documents. They are SAP Partner and they supported us with the data migration (not only for documents). Their support team customized everything for us, as far as I understood no special developments were required for the metadata, so that the setup was very quick. Last year we migrated from SharePoint onPrem to SharePoint online (O365).

Dominik

Dear Wladimir,
Connecting SAP to Sharepoint for what concerns Attachments is basically never out of the box. And as Sharepoint does not support the Archivelink protocol, you always need a specific connector to support Sharepoint integration. Now we have a solution which is not exactly a third party tool as it consists of pure ABAP code and is thus directly coming on your existing SAP system, the YAC add-on !
YAC can connect SAP (ERP and S/4HANA) to Sharepoint and will store attachments with their original filename into automatically generated folder structures (on basis of configuration).
It also has many other functionalities around attachments and works for all types of attachments (SAPOffice, GOS, Archivelink, etc.) and in all screens (GUI, Fiori, GUIHtml, WebDynpro, etc.)
